President Bush honors Vanderbilt women's bowling team at White House

The Vanderbilt University women's bowling team captured the university's first-ever NCAA team national championship in April. Recently, the team was honored by President Bush during a special ceremony on the White House's South Lawn. Bowl.com

Wow- I had no idea that you could make a White House trip for winning a bowling title. I thought that only teams from the major sports like basketball and football were able to do that. That is very cool.

I find it very odd that President Bush would take such an interest in this bowling title. Although I'm sure they worked hard, so do a lot of other athletes; this recognition seems a bit over the top.
